Persepolis crowned Iran’s Super Cup champion

Persepolis football team won the third edition of Iran’s Super Cup after a 3-0 win over Naft Tehran on Friday.

Ali Alipour gave Persepoli a lead in the 17th minute, then Mosen Mosalman extended the lead for the Reds in the 65th minute with a long-range shot.

Persepolis substitute Siamak Nemati was brought down in the penalty area and Farshad Ahmadzadeh secured the win for his team from the penalty spot at the 84th minute.

“It was an important win for us and I would like to thank my players. We have three trophies ahead in the new season and we want to win all of them,” Persepolis coach Branko Ivankovic said, as quoted by Tasnim News Agency.

The Iranian Super Cup is an Iranian association football trophy awarded to the winners of a match between the Persian Gulf Professional League’s season champions and the winners of the Hazfi Cup.
