Cambodia head coach: If we do not change, we might lose even more

After the Cambodian All-Stars had suffered from a 4-0 defeat to Thai League 1 powerhouse Muangthong United on Sunday, head coach Leonardo Vitorino admitted that his team had to change the playing style.

In this match, Vitorino made ten substitutions but his players rarely threatened and ended the game with very little to show for their efforts.

“If we do not change, we might lose even more,” the Brazilian said in a post-match press conference, as quoted by Keila Daily.

“In the second half, our team did not play very well. Unlike the first half, our players wanted to express their personal strength, but the playing style is the same when they were training with me.

Since other players change, I always tell my team that training is not the most important, playing as a team is more important.”

Vitorino saw this clash as a crucial test for his players ahead of the stiff challenges ahead. However, the Kouprey Blues will have lots of things to do if they want to gain significant results in the Under-23 AFC Cup qualifiers this week and the August’s SEA Games campaign.
