Brazilian striker Alexander Pato scored as Tianjin Quanjian sealed a 3-0 win over Shanghai Shenhua in the Chinese Super League match on Sunday.
Tianjin quickly gained the control thanks to a brace from midfielder Zhao Xuri on the 23rd and 32nd minute.
In this game, Shanghai Shenhua welcomed the return of striker Carlos Tevez an injury enforced layoff. Although the Argentine star showed more eagerness on the pitch compared to his performances in previous league matches, his efforts were all parried by Tianjin goalkeeper Zhang Lu.
Pato sealed a fourth straight win for Tianjin with his goal six minutes after halftime.
With this victory, Tianjin overtook Manuel Pellegrini’s Hebei China Fortune to go third in the Chinese Super League standing, with nine points off leader Guangzhou Evergrande.
