Japanese star Shinji Kagawa has signed a contract extension at Borussia Dortmund until 2020.
The 28-year-old playmaker, who re-joined Dortmund from Manchester United in 2014, successfully won the German Bundesliga title in 2011 and 2012 during his first spell.
“We’re very pleased that Shinji will play for us for another three seasons,” Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc said as the club arrived in Tokyo on Friday for pre-season tour.
“Shinji identifies with our club, the city and the fans. He’s also an important role model for our young team.”
Kagawa has scored 27 goals in 88 appearances for Japan since making his senior international against Ivory Coast in 2008.
