Spanish striker Ruben Castro revealed that he wants to return to Real Betis after his loan spell at Guizhou Hengfeng ended next year.
The 36-year-old, who with 135 goals is the highest goalscorer in Betis’ history, has agreed to join the Chinese Super League side with a loan deal until December.
“I’m only going until December so in a few months I’ll be back again,” Castro is quoted as saying by El Correo.
“It is a new experience for me – I wanted to live abroad, I’ve been at Betis for seven years and now I’ve had this wonderful opportunity.
“Now it is time to enjoy this experience and see how it goes,” he added.
“When I return, I expect the team to be high up the standings and performing well as things are shaping up strongly for the season.
“I want to thank all my teammates over the years and all the fans of this wonderful club, we have a strong relationship.
“Playing for this club has been a totally different experience for me than anything else.”
Guizhou Hengfeng on Wednesday also announced the signing of Spanish midfielder Mario Suarez from Premier League side Watford.
