Keisuke Honda trains with American team Orange County SC

Former AC Milan midfielder Keisuke Honda is currently training with local United Soccer League side Orange County SC, who play in the second-tier of the American soccer pyramid.

The Japanese international is reportedly ready to join Major League Soccer after becoming a free agent at the end of the Serie A season with AC Milan.

This report has been confirmed by Angels on Parade, who asked Orange County SC for comment on it on Monday. A club spokesperson confirmed Honda is training with the team “as part of his off-season training that he is conducting in the U.S.” When asked if the Japanese player would be signing with the club, the spokesperson responded, “he is also here to learn more about Orange County SC.”

Honda had been linked with MLS’s Seattle Sounders last January but decided against leaving AC Milan until the club’s sale was completed.
