Thailand football star Chanathip Songkrasin has officially been presented in front of Consadole Sapporo fans during the post-match event in a J1 League game on Saturday.
In this game against Shimizu S-Pulse, a sixth-minute goal from Jonathan Reis helped the Hokkaido-based club end a run of six straight defeat win a 1-0 win.
After the match, thousands of fans were staying at Consadole’s stadium Sapporo Done to watch the club’s new player present.
Wearing the J1-League club jersey, Chanathip expressed his enthusiasm and promised to try his best in his new team: “I’m happy to be here and hope to help our team as well, we will fight together,” the 23-year-old midfielder said to supporters.
At the moment, Consadole are struggling to survive in the Japanese top flight as they are standing in the 15th position in the 18-team league, with just one point above the relegation zone.
