Borussia Dortmund are reportedly targeting South Korean wonderkid Lee Seung-Woo in the summer transfer window.
According to German daily Bild, the FC Barcelona Juvenil A midfielder may join Dortmund’s tour of Japan and China in July.
From Korea, The Chosun-Ilbo reported that a Dortmund scout was impressed by Lee’s performance at the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Korea last month.
“Dortmund inquired at the Spanish club about Lee and talks to acquire him are under way,” Lee’s agency said.
Lee joined Spanish La Liga powerhouse Barcelona from boyhood club Incheon United in 2011 with a lot of excitement for him to be the next big thing in La Masia.
However, the Korean sensation was not allowed to play in any official matches in Spain due to the ban imposed on Barcelona as the Spanish club violated FIFA Youth Eligibility Rules.
Upon rejoining Barcelona, Lee has struggled to match up to the standards at the club’s youth setup and was not guaranteed a start in Juvenil A side at Barcelona.
