Germany’s Eintracht Frankfurt have made an official offer for Sagan Tosu midfielder Daichi Kamada, Football Tribe has learned.
With the two clubs close to an agreement, the 20-year-old could become the latest Japanese player to voyage to the Bundesliga, which has earned a reputation as a testing ground for national team hopefuls.
Kamada impressed in his second season last year, scoring seven goals from 28 appearances and earning a call-up to the Japan U-23 squad which participated in the Toulon Tournament.
Should the transfer be finalised, he will join Samurai Blue veteran Makoto Hasebe at Frankfurt, who finished 11th in the 2016-2017 Bundesliga season.
Several other Japanese stars have called Commerzbank-Arena home, including Junichi Inamoto, Naohiro Takahara, and Takashi Inui.
