WATCH: Syria keeper Ibrahim Alma pulls off unique clearance with strong punch

Syria recorded a notable result when they played a 1-1 away draw against Japan in the international friendly game labelled as Kirin Cup on last June 7.

The war-torn country took the lead in the game courtesy of Mardik Mardikian, though their superiority was short-lived after Yasuyuki Konno struck back for the hosts.

But it was not the scoreline which caught many attention, but the Syria goalkeeper Ibrahim Alma who pulled off a bizarre clearance during the game.

As his team-mates headed forward the 25-year-old Al Ittihad custodian suddenly decided to do an unique way to make a clearance, he throwing the ball high up into the air and meeting it with a volleyball-type punch.

The ball then rocketed down field and comfortably cleared the halfway line. It was happened when the game was just ticking over the 10-minute mark.
