Phillipines suffer heavy defeat to China in friendly match

Philippines national team succumbed to a heavy 8-1 defeat against China PR in an international friendly match on Wednesday in Guangzhou.

Ren Hang kicked off the big win for China in the third minute before Xiao Zhi doubled the lead in the 25th minute. The Azkals pulled one goal back as Misagh Bahadoran sent the ball into the net eight minutes later.

However, China restored two-goal lead as Yu Hanchao join in on the scoring to make it 3-1 in the 44th minute.

In the second half, the away team could not resist from their opponents’ onslaught since China extended the lead further as Wang Yongpo and Yin Hongbo scored in a three-minute span.

The suffering for Thomas Dooley’s team had not stopped yet as China managed to add three more to the tally, including a double from Deng Hanwen.

The Azkals will next face Tajikistan on June 13 for their AFC Asian Cup qualifiers campaign.
