Hebei China Fortune have distanced themselves from a move for Fenerbahce experienced striker Robin van Persie.
Previously, it has been reported that a number of Chinese Super League clubs, including Hebei, wanted to sign the former Netherlands international.
But in a statement issued on the club’s website, Hebei denied they had been in contact with and labelled the potential transfer news are simply speculation.
“Regarding the widespread reports that Hebei China Fortune have bid for Van Persie, our club hereby solemnly declare that we have never approached Van Persie,” the statement said.
“All of this is pure rumours and hopefully gossip dies when it hits a wise person’s ears.”
Van Persie has been consistently linked to Asia, with previously in a few weeks later there was an interest from Indonesia Liga 1 outfit Bali United.
