Kawasaki Frontale cruised into the 2017 AFC Champions League quarter-finals on Tuesday after beating Muangthong United 4-1 in the second leg of the last 16 to progress 7-2 on aggregate.
Yu Kobayashi snuck an effort under Muangthong goalkeeper Kawin Thamsatchanan from the edge of the area to open the scoring in the 31st minute.
Just a minute later Kobayashi turned provider as he assisted Tatsuya Hasegawa for the second goal, and Eduardo Neto headed a third five minutes before half-time.
Rhayner scored Kawasaki’s fourth goal in the 79th minute, converting after another Kobayashi assist, before Teerasil Dangda headed home a late consolation for Muangthong with a minute remaining.
