Cambodia head coach Leonardo Vitorino has heaped praises for key striker Chan Vathanaka after announcing the 25-man squad for the national team.
Cambodia are set to play Indonesia in a friendly on 8 June before hosting Afghanistan in the AFC Qualifiers five days later.
“Everyday, Chan Vathanaka trains in two training schedules in a day, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, while everyone else only trains in the afternoon,” Vitorino said, as quoted by Keila Daily.
“He works hard to earn his spot in the national team, he does it from his heart and he does it for Cambodia even though he has yet to make a full appearance in Japan.”
“Even in training against India, he did what I told him to do, and he has shown drastic improvements,” the Brazilian coach added.
The 25-man squad will start the training camp on 1 June.
