Former Manchester United star Robin van Persie has an explanation why he snubbed a move to Indonesia, according to his agent.
Bali United were previously in negotiation to sign the 33-year-old Netherlands striker as a marquee player but ended the talks after the Indonesian Liga 1 side could not meet his wage requirement.
“Van Persie received an offer from Indonesia buthe refused it,” his agent Kees Vos told Turki Fotomac. “He wanted to return to Feyenoord like Dirk Kuyt.”
“Actually he had a consideration to accept the offer from Indonesia if there was a transfer fee and wage offer more than €4 million, otherwise he will continue his contract at Fenerbahce.”
Van Persie joined Fenerbahce from Manchester United on a three-year deal for a fee claimed to be €4.9 million in July 2015.
