Philippines Football League outfit Global FC and S.League side Home United held each other to a 2-2 draw in their ASEAN Zone semi-final first leg clash of the AFC Cup played at Rizal Memorial Stadium in Manila on Tuesday.
The Global goals were scored by Darryl Roberts and Amani Aguinaldo, which cancelled out Adam Swandi’s goal in the 33rd minute.
Global were down to 10-men in the 76th minute after Amani Aguinaldo was sent off for picking up a second yellow card for a foul and the visitors took full advantage by salvaging an unlikely draw.
Croatian forward Stipe Plazibat was the hero of the night for Home United as he came off the bench to strike a 95th-minute equaliser.
The lapse of concentration could prove costly for Global, as United will be feeling confident heading into the second leg with two away goals.
The second leg takes place on May 30 at Jalan Besar Stadium.
