Philippines lead AFF member nations in FIFA rankings

The international FIFA rankings for April have been released and Iran are still top of the AFC division. Meanwhile, the Philippines retain their lead over the other AFF member countries.

It was a quiet month on the international front as with many domestic leagues nearing their climax – a fact reflected in the latest FIFA World Rankings.

The AFC rankings remain unchanged, as Iran hold on to their 28th place in the world.

South Korea (43rd), Japan (44th) and Australia (50th) are in pursuit but still quite some distance off the pace.

The Philippines (127th) narrowly lead a pack consisting of Thailand (129th), Vietnam (136th), Hong Kong (150th), Maldives (152nd), Malaysia (158th) and Singapore (160th).

The Philippines are in action in June away to Tajikistan so they will most likely be able to enjoy the tag of South East Asia’s best side for a while longer.
