An illustrious career with the Singapore national football team earned Fandi a place in the Asian Football Confederation Hall of Fame.
During his 18 years spell with The Lions, Fandi won 101 caps and netted 55 goals.
He won three Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) silver medals (1983, 1985, 1989) and three bronze medals (1991, 1993, 1995) and was captain from 1993 to 1997.
