Omar Al Soma was the man of the hour as his two goals earned Saudi Arabia’s Al Ahi a draw against Al Ain of UAE in their Group C clash of AFC Champions League matchday 4.
The 28-year-old striker remained positive after the draw, which kept his side on top of Group C.
“We always play for a win, and this is what we tried to do today, but each match has its circumstances and the draw today in the last minutes makes us satisfied.”
“We draw in Al Ain among their fans, which is better than losing, and the most important thing is that we are in the first place of the group”.
Al Ain opened the score after just six minutes when Ismail Ahmed hit it home, but Al Soma levelled from a corner before half-time.
Omar Abdulraham’s 86th-minute spot kick retook the lead for Al Ain, but Al Soma was in the right place at the right time to volley home for a dramatic equaliser.
