Sevilla head coach Jorge Sampaoli has emerged as one of the leading candidates to be the new manager of Qatar national team.
According to Marca, the 57-year-old Argentinian has been approached with a lucrative offer to move to the Middle-East country.
Qatar are currently coached by Uruguayan Jorge Fossati, but his position is under scrutiny following his team’s negative results in the 2018 World Cup qualifying.
Sampaoli, who led Chile to the 2015 Copa America title, is considered as the ideal man to build a strong team for Qatar in the 2022 World Cup which the country will host.
