Al Ahli announced yesterday that they renewed Saeed Jassim’s contract until 2020.
The young striker is seen as the long-term replacement for Ahmed Khalil, who will leave the club to join Arabian Gulf League (AGL) rivals Al Jazira.
Al Ahli failed to convince Khalil to stay even after offering 12 million AEDs, since Al Jazeera offered a much more lucrative deal at 16 million AEDs a year.
Saeed Jassim is one of Ah Ahli’s hot prospect for the future. The 22-year-old made 8 appearances in AGL this season and contributed 2 goals.
Al Ahli is currently sitting on the second place in AGL league table and will play against Al Wasl on Thursday. Al Ahli will hope to secure all three points to close the gap with Al Jazeera who are on top of the table.
