Former Chelsea star John Obi Mikel scored his Chinese Super League goal for Tianjin TEDA in the 2-0 victory against Chongqing Lifan.
The 29-year-old Nigerian international midfielder, who moved to China after an illustrious career in the English Premier League, netted the opener for Tianjin in the 48th minute.
Mikel was handed a start by coach Jaime Pacheco and also proved his effectiveness at both ends of the pitch as he made two vital clearances to deny Chongqing Lifan goal scoring opportunities.
The win over Chongqing Lifan put the Tianjin Tigers in ninth position with four points from their opening three Chinese top-flight fixtures.
