Barcelona plan to offload Arda Turan to Chinese Super League

Even though he was signed in the summer of 2015 and spent six months on the sideline before officially playing for Barcelona, Arda Turan’s future at the club is openly questioned.

Reports from Spain revealed that the Turkish playmaker “values two great offers” from clubs of Chinese Super League to join them by the end of this season in Europe. Turan’s representatives, similar to the previous occasions, denied such possibilities.

Barcelona are aware of the interest in the player, but they have not put him on the transfer list, as it would negatively affect his price. However, inside sources confirmed that the transfer is feasible and necessary.

Joined Barcelona for 34 million euros, Turan never really made an impact and could not compete for a starting spot against Neymar and Ivan Rakitic.

Barcelona’s current financial situation means they’re likely to offload several players to raise funds for Messi’s new deal, with the Argentinian’s current contract set to expire at the end of this season.

Guangzhou Evergrande were thought to be interested in the player, and the Chinese club was rumoured to prepare a 50-million-euro bid for Turan in December 2016.
