Tianjin Quanjian reject Marouane Fellaini offer

Tianjin Quanjian manager Fabio Cannavaro claims that he was offered a chance to sign Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini in the Winter transfer window, but the Italian coach has declined to do so.

The Belgian midfielder has fallen out of favor at the Old Trafford, starting just 3 league games since October. He recently signed a one-year contract extension with the club but is expected to leave soon.

“Marouane Fellaini was offered to us. But I told his agent that I am looking for a different type of player”, Cannavaro told reporters.

The former Italian international also said he wanted to sign Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku from Everton, but was unable to strike a deal with the English club.

“The problem is Everton – they do not just let him go”, the 43-year-old manager said.
