The Young Garuda will train in Madrid, Valencia, Murcia and Mallorca in a special training program announced by national team head coach Luis Milla on Tuesday.
The U-22 team will participate in a friendly tournament in May before embarking on a training tour in Spain, according to the 50-year-old coach.
“First we will go to Madrid. After that, we’ll move to Valencia, Mallorca, and Murcia. However, that’s the plan at the moment. It could be changed later”, Milla told local newspapers.
The former Barcelona footballer explained that he chose the four cities because each of them has adequate training facilities, which would help the Young Garuda to gain fitness.
The U-22 team are also scheduled to play several friendly matches in Spain before returning to Indonesia ahead of the 2017 SEA Games, which will be held in Malaysia.
