Lokomotiv defeated Al Ahli in AFC Champions League group stage

Uzbek club Lokomotiv Tashkent has recorded an impressive 2-0 victory over Emirati side Al Ahli in their second matchday at the group stage of the 2017 AFC Champions League.

Lokomotiv scored one of the fastest goals in the competition’s history when Salamat Kutibaev headed home a cross from Marat Bikmaev in the 18th second.

Al Ahli tried to mount a comeback, but their efforts were denied by a brilliant Ignatiy Nesterov. Three minutes before the hour mark, Bikmaev turned scorer as he latched on to a pass from Sardor Mirzayev to fire the ball home.

In the same group, Iran’s Esteghlal defeated Saudi Arabia’s Al Taawoun 3-0, while in the group B, Iranians Esteghal Khouzestan also overcame Al Jazira 1-0.

Qatar’s Lekhwiya completed an impressive comeback to earn a 2-2 draw against Al Fateh in the other match of group B, with South Korean midfielder Nam Tae-hee scored a late equalizer.
