PSG tried to offload Angel Di Maria to China

Paris Saint-Germain reportedly tried to sell Angel di Maria to Chinese Super League during the January transfer window.

Reports claim the Argentine was offered around to numerous clubs in the East Asia after his agent Jorge Mendes was told to do so by the PSG board.

Mendes was also pictured doing the rounds in China as he also looked to seal deals for Chelsea striker Diego Costa and Real Madrid playmaker James Rodriguez.

However, all of the potential transfer were just on the rumour papers, with Di Maria said to be angered by PSG’s attempts to sell.

A source close to the player said: “Di Maria did not really appreciate it. He found it disrespectful and out of place.”

Di Maria had a startling performance against Barcelona, where he scored twice in the 4-0 Champions League rout in this month
