Ezra Walian on English club’s radar as his contract with Ajax set to expire

English club Reading has made an offer to sign Dutch-Indonesian footballer Ezra Walian on a free transfer, according to reports.

The 19-year-old’s contract with Jong Ajax will expire at the end of the season, and Reading has reportedly approached the youngster’s agent in a bid to convince him to make a move to England.

“There is an offer for him to play in the English Football League Championship next season, from Reading. The offer him a place in the first team, so I think that would be a big step forward for him”, Ezra Walian’s agent told reporters.

“However, he wanted to focus on training and playing with Ajax first. He wanted to honor his contract with the club”, he added.

Ezra Walian was born in Amsterdam to an Indonesian father. He joined the famed Jong Ajax academy in 2012 and has represented the Netherlands at youth levels. However, he is still eligible to play for Indonesia at senior level.
