Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) president, Edy Rahmayadi has declared that Indonesia will host the 2018 edition of AFC U-19 Championship.
Edy claimed that the green light to host the 40th edition of the biennial international Asian youth football championship has been given by the AFC president, Sheikh Salman Bin Ibrahim Al-Khalifa.
“It’s confirmed, Indonesia will host the AFC U-19 Championship (in 2018) as it was stated by the AFC president. Usually when the president revealed, the rest will follow,” he told reporters.
The 55-year-old PSSI president, who serves as a Kostrad Commanders in the Indonesian army, also confirmed that Stadion Utama Gelora Bung Karno in Jakarta will be one of the three venues.
“We have decided that we will use Gelora Bung Karno. Regarding another two stadiums, we will discuss it later,” he added.
