Argentine striker Carlos Tevez has denied rumors suggesting that he would leave Shanghai Shenhua following the club’s embarrassing departure from the AFC Champions League.
Previously, cited unnamed sources, Spanish newspapers reported that the former Manchester United and Juventus footballer is looking to leave Shanghai Shenhua, just two months after his arrival at the club.
According to some newspapers, Tevez was angry at Shanghai Shenhua’s early exit at the AFC Champions League following an embarrassing defeat at Brisbane Roar.
However, Tevez’s agent was quick to denied such rumors.
“Tevez will not leave China, as far as I concern. To tell the truth, I don’t know how this rumor was spread and treated as fact”, the agent told Chinese newspapers.
Shanghai Shenhua reportedly paid €84 million for the Argentine in the Winter transfer window. According to sources he is currently the highest-paid footballer in the world, although the player himself has denied such reports.
