Senegalese striker Baba Diawara has joined A-League champions Adelaide United, reportedly on the advice of Perth Glory attacker Diego Castro.
Baba Diawara and Diego Castro was teammate at Spanish La Liga outfit Getafe. Castro has since joined Perth Glory, with whom he has made 43 league appearances.
“I spoke with him before I signed the deal,” Baba told local newspapers. “He is the one who told me about the A-League, and how good it is, and this club Adelaide United and how they won the championship last year.
“I’m very happy to be here and now I want to meet my new teammates and work very hard so I can be a valuable member of my new club”, he added.
Diawara is expected to play Adelaide United’s match against Newcastle Jets this weekend.
