Singaporean midfielder Hariss Harun has been sent on a year-long loan to Spanish club L’Hospitalet, according to an announcement made by the club on Thursday.
The 26-year-old footballer will be the first Singaporean in history to play professionally for a Spanish club. In 2013, Irfan and Ikhsan Ahmad, son of the famed footballer Fandi Ahmad joined Hercules B on a trial but failed to secure a long-term contract with the club.
The move is expected help Hariss Harun gain experience and improves the quality of his game, his parent club Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) said.
Hariss Harun joined JDT in 2014. He has made more than 70 league appearances for the club, scoring 7 goals. His contract with JDT will expire at the end of the season, but the club has an option to renew it for another two years.
