BEC Tero Sasana merge with Police United, rename to Police Tero

Thai League club BEC Tero Sasana have finalized the negotiation process to merge with Police United, according to an official statement released by the board of directors.

The new club will be renamed to Police Tero and compete in the domestic league and cup, as well as continental and intercontinental competitions. The team will move out of their headquarter at the 72nd Anniversary Min Buri Stadium to the Boonyajinda Stadium.

BEC Tero Sasana was established in 1996. The club won back-to-back league titles in 2000 and 2001-02 season. The team also won Thai League Cup in 2014, but only finished 16th and 9th in 2015 and 2016, respectively. Several club positions, including that of manager, are currently vacant.
