Socceroo defender Trent Sainsbury secures loan move to Inter Milan

Inter Milan have signed the Australian centre-back Trent Sainsbury from Jiangsu Suning on loan until the end of the season.

He was brought into the Italian Serie A giants’ squad as a replacement for Andrea Ranocchia, who left Nerazzurri to join English Premier League side Hull City on transfer deadline day.

The 25 year-old began his professional career with Central Coast Mariners and also wore the jersey of PEC Zwolle in Netherlands before joining the Chinese Super League outfit in January last year.

His move was affected by changes to foreign player quotas in China, which forced Jiangsu to send him to Inter on loan for the remainder of the 2016-17 campaign.
