Australian side Adelaide United confirmed that Spanish striker Sergi Guardiola has parted way with the club in a recent statement.
The former Barcelona B player joined Adelaide United on loan from his parent club Granada at the start of the 2016/17 season, scoring three goals in 16 appearances.
With the departure of Guardiola, Adelaide United are eligible to sign up to two foreign players.
Sergi Guardiola had played for a number of Spanish clubs before joining Granada’s reverse team in 2016. Barcelona B signed him in 2015, but he was sacked after the discovery of offensive tweets which he made about the club and Catalonia back in 2013.
