Sporting Lisbon set sights on Iraqi winger Ali Adnan

Portuguese club Sporting Lisbon is looking into the possibility of signing Iraqi winger Ali Adnan from Udinese, according to reports.

Sporting Lisbon manager Jorge Jesus is reportedly looking to sign another left-back for his team, as he thought the Brazilian footballer Jefferson is not a valid option for his team, while Marvin Zeegalar will be leaving at the end of the season.

Ali Adnan joined Udinese from Caykur Rizespor in 2015. Dubbed “The Asian Gareth Bale” due to his pace and his long-range shooting ability, the Iraqi footballer has scored one league goal for Udinese in 33 appearances.

However, Ali Adnan has made just seven league appearances this season and is in danger of losing his position to the Brazilian defender Samir.

He also represented Iraq on international level, scoring three goals in 44 matches.
