Australia call up 26 players for U23 training camp

Australia U23 team manager Josep Gombau has named a 26-players squad for a three-day training camp which will be held on late January.

The training camp is the first part of preparation for the upcoming 2018 AFC U23 Asian Cup qualifiers, which is scheduled to begin this July.

All 26 players call-up for the first training camp are from Hyundai A-League clubs. A second camp will be held in Europe and will only involve foreign-based players.

The players will arrive in the training camp on January 30 and will be released on February 1.

A total of 47 teams will participate in the 2018 AFC U23 Asian Cup qualifiers, from which 16 teams will qualify to play in the finals, including hosts China.
