Erling Haaland spotted on Crutches and in protective boots after injury in Manchester City’s FA Cup victory

Erling Haaland was seen hobbling on crutches and wearing a protective boot following Manchester City’s 2-1 FA Cup quarter-final win over Bournemouth. The Norwegian striker was forced off in the second half after a collision with Lewis Cook, who fell onto Haaland’s ankle before the striker crashed into the advertising boards.

Haaland initially attempted to continue playing after receiving treatment but quickly signaled to the bench that he could not proceed. He was substituted for Omar Marmoush, who went on to score the decisive goal just minutes later, securing City’s place in the semi-finals against Nottingham Forest at Wembley.

When asked about Haaland’s condition post-match, Pep Guardiola provided little clarity, stating: “I don’t know yet; we will have to see.” However, videos circulating on social media showed Haaland leaving the stadium with assistance, raising concerns about the severity of his injury.

Haaland endured a frustrating evening before his injury. He missed a penalty in the first half after Tyler Adams’ handball, with Kepa Arrizabalaga saving his low effort. He also squandered another chance by blasting over the bar after breaking into the box. However, he redeemed himself shortly after halftime by finishing a precise cross from substitute Nico O’Reilly at the far post.

Clad in his red club tracksuit, Haaland was escorted to the team bus by a member of Manchester City’s staff. It remains unclear if the protective boot and crutches were precautionary or indicative of a more serious issue. City fans now face an anxious wait for updates on their star striker’s fitness.

Despite Haaland’s injury and earlier struggles, Guardiola commended his team for their resilience in overcoming Bournemouth. “There are minimum requirements we have to show—respect for your teammates and making an effort,” Guardiola said. “Today we did it.”

Manchester City remain in contention for silverware this season and are fighting for a top-four finish in the Premier League. However, any extended absence for Haaland would be a significant blow to their ambitions.
