Mohamed Salah believes Liverpool have waited for far too long to win the Premier League.
The Egyptian scored his 17 goals in the 4-0 victory over Crystal Palace, helping his side to two points away from winning a first top-flight title in 30 years.
He admitted Liverpool should have won the league title since last season.
“Since I came here I said ‘I want to win the Premier League for this team, the city’. They didn’t win it for a long time – maybe last year we had a chance,” he said to Sky Sports.
“But Man City also performed really well and it was well deserved, they won it, but it is our time to win it.”
If Man City ended up with a draw or lose to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, Liverpool will win the league.
But Salah refused to watch the game.
“I will be playing with my daughter.”
Chelsea desperately need to win against Man City, as they look to qualify for the Champions League next season, since Man United is only three points behind them.
