Liverpool star Sadio Mane unhappy with Klopp and eyeing Anfield exit

Liverpool star Sadio Mane is reported to be unhappy with Jurgen Klopp and has set his sights on eyeing a move to Real Madrid.

The Anfield winger has been instrumental under Klopp and was the joint winner of the Premier League Golden Boot last season. Mane’s fine form continued to shine this season, netting 16 goals and chipping in with eight assists in all competitions for Liverpool.

However, reports surfaced last week claiming that Klopp is looking at replacements for Mane, with Kylian Mbappe of PSG being one of the possible signings.

This is supposedly what has made Mane keen to quit Anfield this summer, according to France Football, saying the Senegal international is unhappy with Klopp with the real reason being the latter’s backing Virgil van Dijk instead of the winger in the Ballon d’Or race.

Real boss Zinedine Zidane is known to be a huge admirer of the Liverpool star and Mane’s Senegal team-mate Keita Balde has stirred up the talk about his exit, claiming the forward will not want to stay at Liverpool for the rest of his career.

“It depends on many things,” the Monaco ace Balde told AS.

“I don’t know what his decision is. In a year or two, you may want to change.

“I don’t think he wants to be there forever.

“He is a smart boy and he knows what is good for him and what he has to do.

“But in Madrid they are giving out many names.”

Contrary to Balde’s claims, Liverpool legend John Aldridge believes Mane’s former team-mate the example set by Philippe Coutinho has shown that a move to the La Liga doesn’t necessarily work out well as hoped.

“Not all who leave Liverpool go on to struggle. Look at Raheem Sterling at Manchester City,” Aldridge told the Liverpool Echo.

“But Philippe Coutinho is a great example in recent times of where it can go wrong. He was at the pinnacle of his career when he left Liverpool for Barcelona, but it has all since fallen somewhat flat.”
