Former Manchester City manager Stuard Pearce is the new name on the list of candidates to be named as India U-17 national team head coach.
According to the reports in India, the 54-year-old tactician was listed among 75 applications for the vacant role as the All India Football Federation (AIFF) is looking for a coach with experience at the grass-root level.
Pearce spent two seasons with Manchester City in 2005-2007 before taking up the vacant England U-21 job, guided the youth team to the final of the 2009 UEFA U-21 Championship.
India will participate in the 2017 U-17 FIFA World Cup in their home soil, which will be the first time in history for the South Asian side to host the tournament.
