The Indian U-16 National Team won the Four Nation Tournament in Serbia staying unbeaten in 3 games with 2 wins and a draw, beating Tajikistan 4-2 in their final game. India U-16 Boys beat Jordan 2-1 in the opening game and drew 0-0 with hosts Serbia in the second game. In their final game, India defeated Tajikistan 4-2 on Monday to win the youth tournament in emphatic style.
The Indian colds got off to a flying start in the game against Tajikistan going 3-0 up within 10 minutes. Goals from Gibson(5′), Sailo (7′) and Shabaj(9′) saw India dominate the early proceedings with control and tempo as Tajikistan looked shaky from the start.
Tajikistan pulled one back in the 12th minute through a penalty and scored in quick succession again in the 15th minute to make it 3-2 as India’s lead seemed to fade away as Tajikistan boys finally found their footing into the game with quick passing and fast attack to test the Indian backline.
India finally found some breathing space as Rohit Danu scored a crucial goal in the 66th minute from Ricky’s through ball to give India a convincing 4-2 win and eventually winning the Four-Nation Tournament in Serbia.
