Liverpool manager Arne Slot has identified Conor Bradley as the natural successor to Trent Alexander-Arnold, who is expected to leave for Real Madrid this summer. Despite the looming departure of the England international, Slot emphasized that Liverpool will not be rushed into the transfer market, expressing confidence in the club’s current squad depth.

Slot highlighted Bradley’s potential to fill the right-back role, despite the 21-year-old’s season being disrupted by injuries. Bradley has impressed with his attacking prowess and defensive commitment whenever called upon. Slot stated, “I think we can only judge Conor on his fitness if he is good enough, which I think he is, to become a regular starter for us.”

Joe Gomez, another defensive option, has also faced injury setbacks but remains part of Slot’s plans. Slot acknowledged the challenges of maintaining fitness for players who are not consistently in the starting lineup but expressed optimism about their contributions.

Slot downplayed the need for major squad changes, citing Liverpool’s strong position in the Premier League and recent contract renewals for key players like Mohamed Salah. He added, “There are not so many reasons to make it a busy summer because we are quite well-placed in the league.”

Alexander-Arnold’s impending move to Real Madrid comes after years of speculation and interest from the Spanish giants. The 26-year-old has reportedly agreed to a five-year deal worth over £200,000 per week with Madrid. His departure marks the end of an era at Anfield, where he debuted in 2016 and helped secure multiple trophies, including the Champions League and Premier League.

Slot assured fans that Liverpool remains committed to long-term planning rather than reactive spending. He emphasized Bradley’s readiness to step up and dismissed concerns about Alexander-Arnold’s exit disrupting the team’s stability. With Salah and Virgil van Dijk also nearing contract expirations, Liverpool is focused on retaining its core players while preparing for future challenges.

Alexander-Arnold’s departure signals a significant change for Liverpool, but Slot’s confidence in Bradley and his measured approach suggest that the Reds are well-equipped to navigate this transition.
