Arne Slot’s Reds won 2-0 at the Gtech Community Stadium on Saturday, with two last-gasp Darwin Nunez goals sealing a precious three points.<\/p>\n

Although the victory takes Liverpool seven points clear of Arsenal in the Premier League title race, the Reds nonetheless endured \u00a0a tough afternoon against a resilient Brentford\u00a0side, and, speaking after the game, Frank only had good things to say about the league leaders.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think overall a good performance against a fantastic Liverpool team that I think is the best team in the Premier League,\u201d Frank said.<\/p>\n

\u201cOf course, they are No.1, so I don\u2019t think that\u2019s a surprise to anyone, but probably also the best team in the world.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe just played against City and Arsenal and now Liverpool in short succession, and I think they are a level above the two others right now. More complete in all phases of the game.<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah, very good, exceptionally good.\u201d<\/p>\n

When Saturday\u2019s game was drifting into stoppage time, Liverpool supporters were understandably having negative spirits as it had looked as though two more points were being squandered because of profligate finishing, giving\u00a0Arsenal<\/a>\u00a0a big boost. However those Nunez goals arguably felt season-defining, with the dramatic nature of the win bringing back memories of Villa away in 2019\/20, when\u00a0Sadio Mane<\/a>\u00a0headed home in the dying seconds, and it could be\u00a0the<\/em>\u00a0moment of the season come May.<\/p>\n

There is still a huge amount of work to do for Liverpool in the title race, but it\u2019s impossible to ignore the significance of Saturday\u2019s action.<\/p>\n

The Reds\u2019 great Houdini act will have felt crushing for Arsenal, with audible groans going around the Emirates stadium when news of Nunez\u2019s goals came through. The Gunners could only manage to draw 2-2 at home to Aston Villa.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s now a case of Liverpool building on their win and not giving any of their rivals a sniff of hope whatsoever in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
