It was announced earlier this week Staveley and husband Mehrdad Ghoudouss were leaving the Newcastle club and are\u00a0 allegedly in talks to buy a stake in one of the Magpies biggest rivals after playing an influential role in the Saudi Arabia-led \u00a3305m takeover in 2021.<\/p>\n
Their six per cent share in the club has been bought by PIF and the Reuben family but they are not stepping away from the Premier League completely it seems.<\/p>\n
According to Bloomberg Staveley is exploring the possibility of investing in Tottenham after raising \u00a3500m through her investment fund PCP Capital Partners.<\/p>\n
Forbes values the London side at approximately \u00a32.2billion and it is believed Dainel Levy, Spurs chairman, would be open to selling part of the club.<\/p>\n
Speaking to Bloomberg said: \u201cI\u2019ve got no real interest to leave Tottenham, but I have a duty to consider anything that anyone may want to propose.\u201d<\/p>\n
Staveley and her husband brokered the \u00a3305m takeover from Mike Ashley in 2021 and acted as de-facto chief executives and sporting directors.<\/p>\n
They helped Newcastle avoid relegation in the first season and in the second campaign, Newcastle reached the Champions League for the first time in 20 years and made the final of the Carabao Cup.<\/p>\n
It was the pair that appointed Eddie Howe and signed players such as Bruno Guimaraes and Kieran Trippier.<\/p>\n
Newcastle confirmed her departure in a statement which read: \u201cNewcastle United Football Club today announces that an agreement has been reached to change its ownership structure.<\/p>\n
\u201cPIF and RB Sports & Media will increase their shareholdings in Newcastle United, as part of the long- term plan to develop the club and make it a consistently credible competitor in domestic and European competitions.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs part of this structural change, PIF and RB Sports & Media will together acquire PCP Capital Partners\u2019 shareholding in the club and Amanda Staveley will step down from all her positions with Newcastle United.\u201d<\/p>\n
Upon her departure, Staveley said: \u201cNewcastle United is such a special, unique club and being a co-owner of Newcastle United has been an honour.<\/p>\n
\u201cMehrdad and I have loved being part of this club and community and are extremely proud of the progress Newcastle United has made in recent years.<\/p>\n
