It now seems unlikely for Mohammed Kudus to leave West Ham this summer after an update on his release clause recently emerged.<\/p>\n
Sean Whetstone shared on his personal X account on 2 July that the Ghana forward, 23, previously had a hefty release clause in his contract\u00a0that expired on midnight on 1 July.<\/p>\n
A Caught Offside report on 28 June revealed that Manchester City and Liverpool, together with Saudi big-spenders Al-Nassr and Al-Ahli were interested in making a move for Kudus who had moved to the Hammers from Ajax last summer.<\/p>\n
Speaking exclusively to West Ham Zone, McAvennie does not see any club paying huge sums for Kudus and is delighted by the news he is more than likely going to be staying put at the London Stadium.<\/p>\n
\u201cNo one\u2019s going to come in and pay that kind of money he\u2019s only had one season really, hasn\u2019t he?\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Kudus has made his presence felt after maing a great impression during his first season for the Irons, scoring 14 goals across all competitions.<\/p>\n
The lingering concern over his release clause this summer was causing some trepidation but it always felt unlikely any club would trigger it before the expiration date. This means the Hammers are in a great position to dictate terms if any club does try and make a move for him now and it looks highly unlikely they will be pressured into selling.<\/p>\n
While another excellent campaign would make it even more difficult to fend off interested parties next summer, for now at least it looks like Kudus is going to remain a Hammer.<\/p>\n
