After an extremely dry patch of just three wins in 19 matches, Crystal Palace have run out of patience with Roy Hodgson and are set to call time on\u00a0his second tenure as head coach.<\/p>\n
Although it\u2019s uncertain if Hodgson leaves before Monday\u2019s clash against Everton, major supporter discontent has compelled chairman Steve Parish to make a decision to make a change before the end of the season although he had originally wanted to stick with Hodgson until the summer. However, as things are, a run of just three wins in 19 matches in all competitions has thrown things into a giddy spiral, with the veteran manager\u2019s position at Selhurst Park dangling precariously for some weeks now.<\/p>\n
Discussions are now underway over his replacement, with Mail Sport revealing on February 7 that the powers to be at Palace were interested in former Eintracht Frankfurt head coach Olivier Glasner, as co-owner John Textor is said to be favoring Glasner and is backing his appointment.<\/p>\n
Glasner had held talks with club officials last summer when the club were then considering alternatives to Hodgson, who was eventually given a new 12 month contract.<\/p>\n
The likes of Steve Cooper, Julen Lopetegui and Kieran McKenna were all on the club\u2019s priority list although the trio are apparently reluctant to assume the role currently.<\/p>\n
Parish is believed to have spoken to his partners to discuss Hodgson\u2019s future and the candidates to replace him.<\/p>\n
