Salvaging a point from their 2-2 draw against Brighton might have been a bit of a disappointment to the Reds but strategically the match saw a new midfield combination emerge in the eyes of J\u00fcrgen Klopp.<\/p>\n
To be candid, a point for Liverpool against Brighton isn’t exactly something to be lamented, especially after Arsenal\u2019s win over Manchester City ‘s left the Reds just one point behind Pep Guardiola’s side ahead of the international break. Although Klopp has yet to defeat Brighton under Roberto De Zerbi in four attempts, the Reds seem to be visibly improving after last season\u2019s performances at the Amex Stadium.<\/p>\n
For one Ryan Gravenberch appears confident under pressure, seemingly excelling at creating space with his first touch and rapid acceleration into exposed areas.\u00a0<\/strong>Liverpool were noticeably wasteful at times against Brighton, unnecessarily resulting in multiple passes being turned, yet the feeling was prevalent that it was either Gravenberch or Szoboszlai who were most likely to be the catalysts for something to happen in the second half.<\/p>\n Looking likely to be a future prospect for the number six position, despite early signs suggesting that his suitability is more towards playing in the attacking midfield areas, Gravenberch has already registered a goal and two assists in 287 minutes of football for the Reds this season. When the former Bayern Munich player and Szoboszlai are on the pitch together, venom in Klopp’s attack has been much more potent.<\/p>\n Already Gravenberch seems ready to reach the potential that was expected of him when he left Amsterdam, he is certainly looking much more comfortable for Liverpool than he did for Bayern Munich. The exciting prospect of a new midfield combination with Szoboszlai makes the Reds even more threatening as both are able to beat markers from isolated situations, as well as having the technical ability to execute even difficult passes.<\/p>\n Klopp\u2019s move for Gravenberch in the summer looks to have been another step in the right direction as the Reds boss moves closer to finalizing the rebuilding of his midfield, as that has unlocked new ways for the Reds to attack.<\/p>\n A more favorable run of games in the upcoming calendar after the international break could well see Liverpool begin its push soon for a position at the summit of the Premier League table.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
