Liverpool have slid further down the ladder to eighth on the Premier League table after a shocking 3-0 defeat to Brighton and Hove Albion. With Reds boss Jurgen Klopp candidly admitting his team\u2019s display at Brighton is the worst performance\u00a0he\u2019s seen from a team he\u2019s managed as they slumped to a dreadful 3-0 defeat at the Amext.<\/p>\n
Looking unstoppable, Brighton in truth should have wrapped up the game in the first half after being the dominant side from start to finish after Solly March opened the scoring for the visitors on the 47th minute, before doubling the lead five minutes later.<\/p>\n
Brighton truly were in full control bossing around the pitch as both Liverpool\u2019s outstanding defenders Ibrahima Konate and Joel Matip were reduced to chasing shadows.<\/p>\n
Former Arsenal striker, Danny Welbeck then administered the final coup de grace with a brilliant strike to seal the win, effectively consigning Liverpool to another dismal defeat in the Premier League\u00a0leaving Klopp searching frantically for answers as the pressure continues piling up on the beleaguered German manager.<\/p>\n
Sitting precariously eighth on the league table the Reds are now in real danger of missing out on Champions League football next season, especially with Newcastle, Manchester United and Arsenal all looking relentless at the moment.<\/p>\n
Asked what he thought of the performances – the Liverpool boss admitted it was beyond his grasp, telling reporters after the game: \u201cIt\u2019s my job to make the right line-up and set up the right tactics.<\/p>\n
\u201cI had really nice moments doing that but, I\u2019m not sure if it\u2019s because it\u2019s only a few minutes since the game, but I can\u2019t remember a worse game.<\/p>\n
\u201cI honestly can\u2019t and I mean all (my career) not only Liverpool and that\u2019s my responsibility. So that makes it a really low point.\u201d<\/p>\n
Next for Liverpool is their league game against Chelsea at Anfield besides a replay of their FA Cup game against Wolverhampton next week as the games stack up.<\/p>\n
