Manchester United fans have berated Cristiano Ronaldo\u00a0for storming down the tunnel before full-time against Tottenham\u00a0and have labelled him ‘a petulant child’ for doing so.<\/p>\n
The United superstar was again reduced to the role of unused substitute as Erik ten Hag\u2019s side cruised convincingly to a 2-0 victory against Spurs at Old Trafford. And, unsurprisingly in dramatic fashion, he abandoned the dugout and did his usual disappearing act storming down the tunnel before the final whistle had gone.<\/p>\n
United fans have gone on social media to show their disdain at the star and have now hit back at the United No 7 for his actions claiming that he’s ‘tarnished’ his legacy at the club.<\/p>\n
\u201cRonaldo is spoiling his reputation with United he is a legend but it now tarnished and that\u2019s the sad thing what will he be remembered for by young fans,\u201d another said.<\/p>\n
His legacy was a recurring theme, with one user saying: \u201cRonaldo should leave Manchester United for the sake of himself, his legacy and the club too.\u201d<\/p>\n
One user claimed that the forward’s attitude could cause issues for the squad, writing: \u201cRonaldo\u2019s a disgrace! At this point he\u2019s just making problems for ETH.\u201d<\/p>\n
The forward has made headlines in recent months regarding his displeasure at a lack of minutes at the club after trying to secure a move away from the club in the summer.<\/p>\n
One fan attempted to rejoiced in the victory but was unhappy with the forward’s reaction. He wrote: \u201cSuch a good win and this Ronaldo fella had to spoil the celebrations.\u201d<\/p>\n
There were some brutal takes on Ronaldo’s actions, with one fan claiming: \u201cUnpopular opinion. Ronaldo is the most SELFISH athlete in the history of sports.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cNever thought I\u2019d say this as one of the biggest United\/CR7 fans but Ronaldo can kick rocks, he\u2019s washed and selfish,\u201d another said.<\/p>\n
Ronaldo was relegated to the bench for the game against Tottenham and displayed his frustration as he walked out on his team before the end of the game at Old Trafford.<\/p>\n
United boss Erik ten Hag, speaking after the game, told Amazon Prime Video: \u201cI don’t pay attention to that. I have seen him, I will deal with that tomorrow, not today. We are celebrating this victory and we have to recover from this for Saturday.\u201d<\/p>\n
